The Mint Gourd oil lamp was inspired by the Ghanaian Royal stool. The stool has a red “sankofa” symbol at the center of it and has a crescent shaped jewels sitting on it. I used metal leafing to frame this image and carved all around the stool for a relief effect. It provides light when lit and a beautiful imagery when not lit.

It measures about 6.5 inches tall and 15.5 inches round about. Paraffin oil or other oils used in oil lamps will be needed for use. Please trim wick to about a quarter inch before each use and always burn the lamp within site.
